Moorlands Sport Extra, in association with Leek Building Society, is back for a new football season.
We’re hoping to improve the podcast even further with more interviews with our local clubs from Stoke City and Port Vale to Alsager Town and Abbey Hulton United via Leek Town and Congleton Town FC. As well as promoting the different sports going on in the local area.
On this week’s show we hear from Staffordshire FA’s Female Football Participation officer Dani Taylor on the success of the Lionesses out in Switzerland as they retained the Women’s European Championship.
The Emirates FA Cup starts this weekend with several of our clubs in action- we speak to Abbey Hulton United manager Jon Beaumont ahead of the club’s first ever FA Cup at Boldmere St Michaels. Also, Hanley Town goalkeeper Michael Shorthouse as they prepare to face Lichfield City.
Sky Bet League One also gets underway this weekend and, Port Vale head to Rotherham United. Dave Stringer popped down to Vale Park and spoke with manager Darren Moore and midfielder George Byers.
