New Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector for Stoke South

The Stoke South Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) has been boosted with the introduction of a new inspector.

Inspector Scott McGrath began his new role this week and is based at Longton police station. He will be working alongside Stoke South NPT commander, Chief Inspector Rob Hessell and Sergeant Chris Moss.

Scott has been with the force for 19 years in a number of roles including neighbourhood policing, the fore’s intelligence department and CID.

He was also seconded to the UK Border Agency for 18 months.

Inspector Scott McGrath said: “I’ve worked in a number of roles during my career and have spent the last 12 months as a Detective Inspector in CID, based in Hanley. I am keen to bring my experience to strengthen the team further and increase the positive impact they are having.

“I will be spending the next couple of weeks getting familiar with the areas and communities I cover, understanding the issues and what my team has been working on up to now to tackle them.

“The Stoke South team work extensively with partners to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour. They are a team of highly motivated and hardworking officers who are passionate about the community they serve.”
