Stoke were turned over by a less talented but more organised side. Not much for the neutral to watch, and frustrating for City fans, particularly as the only goal could have been prevented. Here’s how the game unfolded in real time:

Stoke playing the Championship’s top side…again. It was Fulham (defeat), then Albion (victory!), and now unbeaten Boscombe (8 wins, 4 draws). Everyone looks at the bench where Tyrese Campbell (with a tidy haircut) has returned. Here he finds Vrancic & Sawyer being rested. But this is going to be tough.

2.20 First foul on Powell, first yellow card (Kilkenny)!! Seconds later Bournemouth try to add to that tally, as Lerma goes head-to-head with Powell after kicking him after the ball had gone!

18.01 Billing misses a sitter, blasting wide from close in, then he sits around looking for someone to blame. Crowd unimpressed with Bournemouth’s antics.

22.20 After Jacob Brown starts bleeding from an elbow in the forehead, he goes off to stem the blood and change his shirt. Meanwhile, Stoke attack (!), and Powell goes down in a heep after overstretching and being kicked in the heels. He hobbles back on, but he’s not running this off. He’s soon back on the ground. Replay shows it was Lerma who kicked him!! Certain irony there. Earlier replay shows Lerma lucky to still be on the pitch.

27.20 Vrancic on for Powell, who has to walk all the way around the pitch to the dressing rooms, even in front of the away supporters. Stupid rules!

29.03 Harry challenges Lerma out of play, where he tumbles dramatically. Ref goes over to warn him not to be a baby.

34.50 Keeper Mark Travers takes out one of his defenders trying (unsuccessfully) to punch clear.

50.48 0-1 !! Stoke letting Bournemouth play, so Dominic Solanke puts in the rebound from Christie’s shot, only parried by Adam Davies. Very poor. Stoke need another gear.

54.35 A glorious move involving Souttar, Tymon and Smith results in Thompson hitting the post, and yes it did seem easier to score! Surridge would have played it straight at the keeper! Bet he’ll come on soon!

58.07 Zemura is yellow carded for tripping Clucas. And sure enough, Surridge is getting ready to come on…

70.05 Tyrese returns! He’s on for Brown. The crowd go crazy, and soon he’s beaten the offside trap. Bournemouth now look intimidated.

72.55 Stoke daydream, so Bournemouth hit the bar! It’s that man Solanke again.

74.45 Solanke gets beautifully tackled by Harry, but Dom thinks he’s fouled and he gets VERY angry, charging in on Wilmot in retaliation! How he doesn’t get carded (particularly red carded) is beyond most people! Now Bournemouth are playing the time-wasting game, with one guy hacking down Thompson, then claiming he’s injured himself…but not bad enough to get treatment. Stoke fans accuse them of cheating…as always.

83.42 Tyrese breaks, but can’t stretch to finish. it was an impossible angle to be honest.

88.01 AFC fans ask if there’s a fire-drill… Stoke fans are leaving early.

89.30 Yet another AFC defender having “words” with the linesman. Why there haven’t been more yellow cards for dissent…
