Over 1000 residents attend Werrington lights switch-on

This year Werrington’s Christmas light switch-on was transferred to the centre of the village and a host of extra attractions added to make it a full family event. The Village Hall hosted a sold-out Craft Fair in a packed hall with gifts, refreshments, and a Gin Wagon.

Over the way in the library there was a “Food Hall” as well as the Wetley Moor Alpacas.

Wellbeing log cabins had been magically transformed into a Grotto for Santa who gave every child a Christmas wrapped selection box and an “I visited Santa” sticker.

The fair raised over a thousand pounds which will go to the local good cause Kidz2Kidz, a Werrington based initiative which helps disadvantaged and vulnerable children around North Staffordshire.

The event was organised by the Werrington Community Volunteers.
