Police Recover Stolen Bikes Hours After Reported Theft

Officers in Stoke-on-Trent have successfully recovered a number of bicycles worth about £5,000 just hours after they were reported stolen.

Police were called at 9.42am on Wednesday (6 October) to Cliff Street in Smallthorne.

Officers attended and the victim reported that three mountain bikes had been stolen sometime overnight between Tuesday (5 October) and Wednesday (6 October).

The Transition, Giant and Nuke Proof downhill bikes were being stored in a locked trailer in a communal garden.

Officers carried out patrols in the local area and recovered the bikes at the rear of a nearby property at around 1pm on Wednesday (6 October).

The victim has since moved the bikes to a secure location.

No arrests have yet been made and inquiries are ongoing.
