Staffordshire Businesses Celebrate 10 Years of Staffordshire Day at House of Commons

Businesses from across Staffordshire have been confirmed to take part in a showcase event at the House of Commons on Tuesday 28 April 2026, marking the 10th anniversary of Staffordshire Day.

The organisations will represent the county’s innovation, creativity and economic strengths on a national stage alongside MPs, policy makers and industry leaders.

Those chosen to exhibit were formally announced by We Are Staffordshire, the county’s Place Marketing Delivery Organisation, at a briefing event last night.

The evening was attended by one of the Parliamentary sponsors for the event Gareth Snell, MP for Stoke-on-Trent Central, who joined exhibitors and partners to mark the beginning of preparations for the Westminster showcase.

Businesses were selected from across Staffordshire’s districts and boroughs following a county-wide ballot.

Alongside wider displays from Staffordshire’s makers, creators and innovators, the House of Commons event will also welcome local food and drink producers to share samples of their products with guests.

We Are Staffordshire will also host three themed roundtables bringing together national and regional leaders to explore opportunities for Staffordshire’s economic growth, innovation, and place shaping, with focus topics on Staffordshire’s heritage and cultural vibrancy; skills and education, along with a session looking at a national ambition, led by Staffordshire County Council, to see care experienced young people offered a guaranteed interview by businesses of a certain scale across the UK.

Leigh Ingham, MP for Stafford, Eccleshall and the Villages, who is also sponsoring the event, said: “Staffordshire is home to world-class businesses and so much incredible talent – I’m really looking forward to showcasing that in Parliament.”

“We’ve got great businesses attending, from GE Vernova who are the largest employer in my constituency, to Titanic Brewery who run some great Stafford venues like Bod and The Sun Inn, this is a great opportunity to show where Staffordshire is leading and what we have to offer.”

Gareth Snell MP said: “Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire are home to so many iconic and ambitious businesses ranging from ceramics and other manufacturers to independent retailers and tourist attractions and everything in between.”

“This showcase in Parliament is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the innovative industries and rich tourism offer we’re proud to have here. It’s a chance to celebrate what makes our area unique and ensure Ministers see the strength, creativity, and potential of our local economy.”

Alastair Budd, Director of the Trentham Estate said: “We’re delighted to be joining We Are Staffordshire at this event and to have the opportunity to represent the county as one of its leading visitor attractions. Trentham has a proud tradition of welcoming visitors from across the region and beyond, and we’re looking forward to showcasing our offer in Parliament.”

“We’re also pleased to be celebrating the tenth anniversary of Staffordshire Day here in the county, as well as supporting the launch of the Staffy Trail as its first sponsor.”

Staffordshire Day takes place annually on 1st May. The first official Staffordshire Day celebrations took place in 2016, the year the county turned 1,000 years old. 1 May was chosen as the date through a public poll as it is the anniversary of Josiah Wedgwood setting up his pottery company in 1759.
