Staffordshire Commissioner Reviews Police Performance at Public Meeting

Staffordshire Police’s new operating model, crime levels and officer recruitment are among the topics Staffordshire Commissioner Ben Adams will discuss with new Chief Constable Chris Noble at his first Public Performance Meeting, taking place on Thursday 27 January.

At the meeting, which will be broadcast live online from 1pm, the Commissioner will hold Mr Noble to account on behalf of the public, covering a range of topics including:

  • Chief Constable Chris Noble’s new operating model, moving towards a localised model of policing which increases the number of officers working in individual neighbourhoods
  • Staffordshire Police’s commitment to tackling violent crime, particularly crimes against women and girls, as part of a new Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls strategy
  • The work of the Roads Policing Unit in keeping Staffordshire’s roads safe and tackling criminality on our road network
  • The decrease in anti-social behaviour in our region over the last three years
  • Progress on officer recruitment as part of the Police Uplift Programme

Staffordshire Commissioner for Police, Fire & Rescue and Crime, Ben Adams said: “My role is to oversee the work of the police and fire & rescue services to ensure they are delivering the best possible outcomes for the people of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

“This meeting is about being open, honest and transparent so that our communities can hear directly from their Chief Constable on the issues that matter to them, and have confidence in the quality of the service delivered by policing here.

“People can follow the meeting live wherever they are via the web, and it will also be available to view online afterwards.”

Accountability, transparency and openness in the police and fire & rescue service is a key priority for the Commissioner, ensuring the people of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent are better informed and involved in how services are delivered.
