Leek TV Founder Dies Suddenly Aged 45

The market town of Leek and it’s surrounding areas are in mourning today following the sudden passing of Leek TV Founder James ‘Locko’ Lockett.

Tributes have been pouring in all day in memory of a man who has been described as a true local legend.

Jim raised money for local charities, loved StokeCity, Leek Town and followed England home and away. He also ran a lads and dads team under the Leek Town FC umbrella.

He reached local celebrity status with his work with Leek TV where he and the team had thousands of followers on their Social Media platforms. He often posted vlogs, interviews and community celebrations.

Jim was a serving Policeman based around Manchester. He leaves a wife and two children.

Moorlands Radio Sports Editor Tony Walley paid this tribute to him: “Jim was a lovely guy.”

“The term legend is often used to describe outstanding people – Locko was an outstanding bloke. His energy knew no bounds, his enthusiasm was unmatched and his humour was right out of the top draw”

“He loved all sport but especially Football and I used to enjoy our chats. He contibuted to our sports show on a few occasions and it was obvious he knew his stuff.”

“His passing has come as a massive shock to the Moorlands Community and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”

“On behalf of Moorlands Radio and our sports team, we send our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his wife, children, extended family and friends”

There is already talk of some kind of community event to mark his passing when the time is right and the public can come out in large numbers to celebrate the life of this special gentleman.
