Leek High School remains in ‘special measures’ following OFSTED visit

Leek High School remains as an ‘inadequate’ score and continues to require special measures. That’s according to OFSTED inspectors, who carried out a recent monitoring visit.

In the update published this week, the inspector provided an update to the leadership team following the visit by OFSTED on the 14th June.

Inspectors noted there had been changes to the leadership structure of the school. The previous interim executive headteacher left.

The report noted there had been processes put in place and improvements in behaviour, a reduced number of suspensions and improved pupil attendance.

The inspector also reported that the interim executive headteacher had reviewed the school action plan to ensure that the school was taking the right actions, however, it was noted that Leaders had not yet taken sufficient action to improve the quality of education.

The school remains in special measures.
