Beat the winter blues at the New Vic Theatre this season!

The New Vic has a series of uplifting events for audiences across the next few months to help raise spirits as we head towards spring.

Ladies’ Day by Amanda Whittington (Kiss Me Quickstep) is a fun and heart-warming story of female friendship which sees four women swap their typical working day at a fish factory for front row at the races. With high aspirations and fraying tempers, as the racing begins and they place their bets, will they win big, or will their luck fall at the final hurdle? The uplifting comedy is on stage at the theatre from Friday 3 – Saturday 25 February.

Folk favourites Fairport Convention will present a mix of tunes old and new in their concert on Wednesday 8 February, while Cara Dillon will captivate audiences through traditional Irish song as she performs a selection of her favourite releases plus material from her new album Wanderer on Monday 13 February.

Musical legend Tony Christie – the singer behind the smash-hit (Is This The Way To) Amarillo – will charm audiences when he takes to the New Vic stage on Monday 20 February and then, following on from comedian Chris McCausland’s already sold-out stand-up gig on Wednesday 8 March, international bestselling author Kate Mosse OBE visits the New Vic on her first ever theatre tour on Monday 13 March. Part detective story, part love letter about how history is made, and part celebration of extraordinary, brilliant trail-blazing and inspirational women throughout history, audiences can expect a fabulous evening of entertainment.

Finally, King for a Day: The Nat King Cole Story, is a thoughtful and entertaining show featuring world-class music in celebration of the iconic vocalist on Monday 20 March – a perfect treat for all lovers of great music.

Tickets for all these events are on sale now. For more information and to book call the Box Office on 01782 717962 or online at newvictheatre.org.uk.
