Biddulph library’s ‘OUTSIDE’ space to be reimagined

An underused outdoor area at Biddulph Library is set to be transformed as part of the OUTSIDE community arts programme.

The project will help Biddulph Library staff and Biddulph residents reimagine their outside space and explore what an exciting, sustainable and useful outdoor library area would look like.

The initial public engagement phase, which takes place from 24th to 29th April, will invite library users and the wider Biddulph community to share their thoughts and ideas about what they would like their outside space to be.

OUTSIDE has commissioned outdoor arts organisation Wild Rumpus to create a collection of nature-based interactive installations which will be used to prompt conversations and capture opinions from visitors. From the findings, the outside space will be developed in May, ready for opening ahead of the summer.

For those unable to attend the public engagement there will be opportunities to contribute ideas online or to drop into the library at another time to let staff know their thoughts. There’ll also be a chance to sign up to be involved in the ongoing development of the space.

Visit Biddulph Library 24th to 29th April to talk about Biddulph’s new OUTSIDE Space.
