Emergency services have been dealing with a situation in Rudyard this morning.
Police were called at 7.50am this morning (Sunday 29th December) to reports of a body in the water at Rudyard Lake, Rudyard, near Leek.
A woman’s body was recovered from the water by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service. Sadly, she was pronounced dead just before 9.30am.
The woman’s next of kin has been informed.
Officers are working to establish the circumstances leading to the woman’s death. They are currently treating the death as unexplained and no suspicious circumstances have been found at this stage.
