Dougie Mac to open second Cheadle shop

Dougie Mac’s newest charity shop will open its doors in the Moorlands this week.

The new shop in Cheadle opens on Friday 8th September, in the former Barclays Bank on the High Street, and will sell home accessories, while Dougie Mac’s current shop will remain open too.

Liz Clarke, Head of Retail at Dougie Mac, said, “We’re really excited to be opening our second shop in Cheadle. It’s a great location, in the old Barclays Bank building, so there’s space for us to sell some furniture items and a range of homeware. Plus there’s good access for supporters to drop off their good quality, unwanted homeware donations. Our existing shop on High Street, which has always been so well supported by the local community, will continue to sell a wide range of good quality clothing, shoes and accessories, at affordable prices.”

Dougie Mac’s network of local charity shops contribute more than £5 million of income to help pay for the hospice’s specialist care services for local children, young adults and adults facing a life-limiting condition.

Liz added, “Our shops play a hugely important role in the financial strength of Dougie Mac, and it’s the support of the local community that makes this possible. So whether you’re shopping for a bargain or donating your unwanted items to us, we’re relying on your support to make both our Cheadle shops a success and we can’t wait to welcome you through our doors.”

Dougie Mac’s new Cheadle shop is located at 35 High Street, Cheadle, ST10 1AS and will open at 10am on Friday 8th September. Everyone is welcome to join the opening celebrations.
