Fire damage to Biddulph Youth and Community Zone

A Moorlands community centre has suffered damage from a fire.

At 3am on Tuesday morning (2nd May) Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service attended a fire at the rear of the Biddulph Youth and Community Zone on Church Road in Biddulph.

Appliances from Biddulph, Sandyford, Burslem and Hanley attended the scene. In a social media post the Biddulph Youth and Community zone said:

“We are so sorry to tell you all that your Community Centre was the victim of Vandalism at around 3am. All the hard work of our volunteers and staff team put into the centre. This is heart-breaking.”

Damage was caused to the rear of the centre and the community garden, new fencing and a shed. They are appealing for any help from the community to get the centre re-opened.
