Parking charges at Wharf Road car park in Biddulph are being suspended on the days when Covid vaccinations are taking place at the Town Hall.
Parking will be free on Tuesday 19, Wednesday 20, Friday 22 and Saturday 23 January to support patients attending for their jabs. Parking charges were also suspended on Saturday 16 January for the same reason.
The Town Hall is being used as a vaccination centre by Biddulph Doctors and Biddulph Valley Doctors following the success of a similar project to deliver flu vaccinations last autumn.
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council has worked with Biddulph Town Council to put the parking arrangements in place to support the Covid vaccination roll out.
Councillor Sybil Ralphs, Leader of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, said: “It’s great news that these surgeries in Biddulph have already starting vaccinating Moorlands residents as the programme continues to roll out across the country and we see the numbers of people receiving their jabs continue to rise.
“The vaccine is one of the ways out of this pandemic so we’re delighted to be able to support our health partners, the Town Council and local residents by waiving charges on our car park on vaccination days.”
People are asked not to ring their GP for an appointment for a vaccination – you will be contacted when it’s your turn.
Users of the car park are reminded to park carefully as all other parking regulations still apply.
