Fresh CCTV Appeal Issued to Find Man Regarding Stoke-on-Trent Robbery

Officers are issuing a fresh appeal for help identifying a man they wish to speak to regarding a robbery in Stoke-on-Trent.

These CCTV images have been released in the hope of information coming to light after the incident on Poulton Street in the city centre at the side of the Lloyds Bank branch at about 1.50am on Sunday 18 April.

A taxi driver was dropping three men off on Poulson Street.

One of the passengers – described as white, aged in his late 20s or early 30s with brown hair and wearing a dark-coloured puffa-style jacket and dark trousers – pulled a small pocket knife out, held it to the back of the driver’s neck and threatened the driver with violence if he didn’t hand all his money over. The driver did so and the men left. The taxi driver was uninjured during the incident.

A second passenger was described as mixed race and tall, aged in his early 30s, with short shaved hair, a defined beard and was wearing a grey tracksuit with black stripes down the arms.

The third passenger was also described as white and aged either in his late 20s or early 30s. He was also wearing a grey tracksuit top, dark cap, black trousers and dark-coloured footwear.

When the driver challenged them to ask for his money back they fled towards Campbell Place.

Since then, two men – aged 25 and 33, from Stoke-on-Trent – have been arrested for robbery and released under investigation as enquiries continue.

Officers now want to speak to the man pictured as part of those enquiries.

Anyone who recognises the man pictured or who may have seen or heard anything suspicious at the time should message Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter quoting incident number 70 of 18 April, call 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
