In Conversation with……. Deb McAndrew from Corrie to Claybody

In my role as theatre reviewer for Moorlands Radio I get to see a lot of productions and I get to talk to many actors/performers/producers/directors and out and out stars.

The ones I enjoy talking to the most are the ones who don’t realise they are any of the above.

Recently I got to chat to Deb McAndrew who happens to be many of the above! An actor known best for her role in Coronation Street and in the Radio 4 drama Stone as well as many other on screen appearances.

On stage she excelled as a member of the Northern Broadsides and with the pen she created some some marvellous productions which really showcase life in and around the Stoke-on-Trent landscape of bygone days and our rich industrial heritage.

Deb and her husband Conrad Nelson created the Claybody Theatre company which use our industrial buildings as the prefect backdrop to their stories. The latest of which ‘Bright Lights Over Bentilee’ starts it’s run this week and is almost a sell out, as is usual for their productions.

We talk of many things and yes we talk about Corrie – why wouldn’t we? Listen below
