The Valiants have today confirmed that Jesse Debrah has signed a 2-year contract at Vale Park.
The 22-year-old defender was highly sought after by a number of League One clubs but has committed himself to the Valiants and Andy Crosby’s Team.
Most recently Jesse has spent time at FC Halifax Town, making more than 60 appearances across two seasons for the National League outfit and played a pivotal role in their FA Trophy victory.

“I am delighted that Jesse is now officially a Port Vale player, he has been in and around the team for a few weeks now and he has already cemented himself as a positive person around the changing room with an infectious personality.
“We’re looking forward to seeing him develop further in the player he wants to be and what we believe he can become.
“He will offer excellent competition in the back line and will learn a lot from the players already in those positions.”

“I am delighted that we are now in a position to formally welcome Jesse to Vale Park following lengthy discussions with Halifax Town.
“His speed and physical attributes has been a profile we have been looking to recruit for a while and having Jesse train in our environment has give us a chance to see Jesse up close. He has real drive and determination to push himself to improve both on and off the pitch. As a person, he has been exceptional and enhances the outstanding people already at the club.
“Jesse has been assessed for a number of weeks after a poor rehabilitation programme, but our medical team has worked tirelessly to improve and develop all of Jesse’s physical metrics and a huge thank you to them for getting us to this position to make this signing happen.
“I would like to personally thank Jesse and Jesse’s agent, Kevin, for their patience and co-operation throughout what has been an extended process with Halifax Town.”
There will be a tribunal at a later date to determine the amount of compensation to be made payable to FC Halifax Town as an agreement couldn’t be reached during negotiations.
This will not affect Jesse’s ability to play for the Valiants.
