Karen Bradley MP – Weekly Update (26th June 2023)

This is week 4 of My Year of Reasons to Visit the Moorlands where each week, over the course of a year, I will be focusing on one of the many reasons that people enjoy the Moorlands. The feedback from local people has been really positive and it is so good to share and promote these fantastic organisations and people that we are so lucky to have here in the Moorlands.

My Reason this week is the fantastic wedding venue, Heaton House Farm and the Knot Inn in Rushton Spencer.

Karen at Heaton House Farm wedding venue

Heaton House Farm has been hosting weddings for many years and I was particularly delighted to visit on the exact day they celebrated 24 years of hosting weddings.

The Farm has belonged to the Heath family for many generations, and the very first wedding was in 1998 when, hosting an annual charity concert for the Midlands Air Ambulance, one of the guests asked if they could have a marquee-style wedding in the barn.

Eager to help out, they set about getting everything prepared to host the first wedding in the barn in 1999. They have gone from strength to strength and now host over 120 weddings annually and employ over 50 members of staff, while still operating as a working farm. The venue has so much to offer from a beautiful, purpose built preparation room to on-site accommodation, stunning grounds and amazing converted farm barns.  They also sell great Christmas trees every advent.

The family also now run the Knot Inn in Rushton Spencer which is another fantastic Reason to visit the Moorlands.

For more information, please see my Facebook page all this week and please do share your great experiences and photos of Heaton House Farm and the Knot Inn on my Year of Reasons Twitter @VisitMoorlands.
