Leek High School remains ‘Inadequate’ and in special measures

Leek High school remains in special measures following a monitoring inspection visit from His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills.

The visit took place on 9th and 10th November last year and was the first monitoring inspection since the school was judged to require special measures following the inspection that took place in March 2022.

During the inspection, the Inspector discussed the actions that had been taken to improve the school since the most recent graded inspection.

Inspectors also met staff and reviewed school policies and documents, including safeguarding records and the school’s website. They spoke to pupils, visited lessons, and visited the school’s isolation room.

The inspectors also considered the views of parents and staff expressed through the Ofsted Parent View and the staff survey. Following the visit, it was deemed Leek High School remained ‘inadequate’ and was required to remain in special measures.

It was noted that new leaders had made progress to improve the school.
