Leek Town announce two more signings as Scully and Ndene join the club.

With the new Northern Premier League West season being just 15 days away, Leek Town have provided the following squad update.

First up is the arrival of midfielder Tom Scully following his departure from Nantwich Town.

He started his career at Everton’s academy before having spells with Norwich City, Carrick Rangers and Accrington Stanley. It was while he was with Stanley that he made his first team debut as the Reds defeated Leeds United under 23’ 7-0 in the Papa John’s Pizza Trophy in September 2020.

Scully joined Nantwich Town originally on loan from Accrington in September last year before going on to make the move a permanent one in November. He played 28 times for the Dabbers as they were relegated from the Northern Premier League Premier Division at the end of the season.

Following Scully through the door is young defender Julius Ndene.

The youngster has impressed the management team at Leek Town throughout pre-season and, is a versatile defender who can be deployed as a centre back or fullback.

He arrives from Midlands Football League side Uttoxeter Town and has previously played seven times for Stoke City’s under-18s team.

The Blues have three pre-season friendlies remaining before they host Widnes on the opening day of the season. Tomorrow afternoon, they visit Marston Road, the home of Stafford Rangers before welcoming Ndene’s old club Uttoxeter Town to the F Ball Community Stadium on Monday night (the game is an 8pm start). They conclude their pre-season programme by hosting Sky Bet League Two side Crewe Alexandra next Friday evening.
