Moorlands Police are reminding people using The Roaches to be aware of the significant dangers associated with starting barbecues.
There is currently no provision for having barbecues in the open countryside of the Peak District.
This includes the Roaches. Disposable barbecues, traditional barbecues, or any form of open flame are strictly prohibited.
Controlled burns are not scheduled between May and September. Therefore, any sighting of a fire during this period should be treated as an emergency.
