A man has been arrested after two officers were assaulted and property damaged in Biddulph.
At around 8.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 25th September) police responded to a report of a man with a pole damaging property inside Bargain Booze on Tunstall Road.
Shortly after, officers arrested a man following a disturbance at the Crown and Cushion pub on High Street. During the arrest two officers were assaulted. Thankfully, their injuries were not serious.
Earlier, police received a report of three teenagers being approached by a man brandishing a pole on Shepherd Street. He demanded they hand over shoes and money.
No-one was injured and nothing was taken.
A car, an exterior light and a communal staircase to a block of flats were also damaged.
A 37-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of affray, two counts of assault by beating an emergency worker, criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He remains in custody.
