Newcastle Town’s Head of Women’s football Micky Beamon on their League Cup success

On Sunday afternoon Newcastle Town FC Women’s team were celebrating as they won the Staffordshire Ladies League Cup against Whitchurch Alport.

Castle defeated their counterparts from Whitchurch 4-0 thanks to goals from Mollie Prime, Hannah Jamieson and two from captain Katie Greenwood at the Yarnfield Football Centre to lift the cup, their first bit of silverware since being formed last year.

They could add the league championship to their trophy cabinet tonight (16th May) if they avoid defeat against Leek Town Ladies Reserves at their Roe Lane training ground. While a defeat would take it to the final game of the season when they travel to Albrighton on Sunday.

Moorlands Radio caught up with their Head of Football Micky Beamon to discuss the league cup win on Sunday and their chances of winning the Staffordshire Girls and Ladies Football League.
