Officers to meet with communities at Staffordshire County Show

Officers from Staffordshire Police are preparing to engage with our communities at this year’s County Show which is expected to include a range of exciting activities, recruitment opportunities and crime prevention tips.

The show, which is due to run from 31st May to 1st June, will see officers from across the force along with a number of police staff attend the County Show Ground on Weston Road in Stafford from 8am to 6pm each day.

Officers will be running their own stand at the event and be on hand to speak to visitors on the issues that matter to them and their communities; from burglary and theft to rural and cyber-crime.

There will be information on the best ways to keep in touch with police and keep up-to-date on what is happening in your area through the Smart Alert neighbourhood messaging system.

If you’ve ever thought about careers in policing, officers will also be able to provide information on job and development opportunities.

The stars of the show will be our police dogs, along with force mascot, Kash, who will make a special appearance during the event.

Visitors will have chance to meet the police dogs and their handlers, see police vehicles and even take part in an interactive quiz.

Colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service will also be in attendance with a range of activities on offer, making this year’s County Show the perfect fun-filled trip for all the family.

Local Policing Superintendent, Mark Ward, of Staffordshire Police, said: “We relish the opportunity to attend the County Show and meet our communities as well as find out more about what matters to them and how we can best help them.

“It is also a chance for our communities to find out more about us, what we do and how best to keep informed in their local area.

“There is the opportunity to discover what it takes to be part of the policing family as well as meet our police pooches and mascot.

“We will continue to encourage everyone to help us build positive relationships in our communities and we look forward to seeing you there!”
