Moorlands Police have released an image of a man they want to talk to who might have witnessed a serious assault in Leek.
It happened at around 2am on Saturday 19th October.
The witness spoke to the victim, a woman in her 30s, near to the Go Outdoors store on Derby Street. The witness is described as a bald white man, in his 40s, of a large build, wearing a fleece and jeans.
The victim suffered head and facial injuries in an assault near to the Natwest bank.
The investigation is ongoing and officers arrested a 28-year-old man from Cheadle on suspicion of assault. He has since been placed on conditional police bail while inquiries continue.
