Staffordshire Police is urging people to stay safe from coronavirus this bank holiday by sticking to the rules around social distancing and gathering indoors.
Since 17 May, indoor hospitality venues have been able to open. This includes businesses such as indoor pubs, restaurants and cinemas.
As we approach the Bank Holiday weekend we must continue our efforts to control the virus, remember ‘hands, face, space’ and act responsibly in order to help keep the infection rate down.
Superintendent Mark Ward, lead for community engagement at Staffordshire Police, said: “The efforts of the people of Staffordshire to adhere to the rules have been remarkable so far.
“But we must not get complacent now and remember that coronavirus is still here and continues to pose a significant risk to our loved ones and communities.
“I understand most people will want to go out, enjoy the sunshine, and make the most of the latest easing of restrictions.
“But let’s not waste what we have achieved so far.
“Please be responsible, exercise caution and do what you can to keep yourself and others safe from this deadly virus.”
Officers will be continuing patrols in the region over the weekend in order to engage, explain and encourage people to maintain social distancing, wear face coverings where necessary and clean their hands.
