Defenders on both sides will be given a dressing down after this goal-fest. Thankfully the goal that won the game was a glorious finish by Sam “Hudson” Clucas. Stoke pushing for a play-off spot. Here’s how the game unfolded in real time:

It’s so much about Joe Bursik returning from Doncaster (loan) to replace injured Davies & Gunn that no one seems to notice poor Sam Clucas’ comeback. Sam is made captain…but still no one notices. Even more obscure is Jacob Brown slotting in for James McClean, who tested positive. The layout looks like 4-2-4…but it couldn’t be…could it?

9.30 Fletcher tumbles with O’Brien, but Steven as good as treads on Lewis and nudges his head with his knee as he gets up. Ref unimpressed, and so he should be.

13.00 Bursik comes charging out almost to the half way line to clear a ball…which sets up Campbell who shoots over. Saves AND assists. Joe could be very useful.

22.45 Laughable moment as Fraizer Campbell dashes into the penalty area, trips himself up, looks to the ref for a foul, ref says tough it’s offside anyway.

23.50 0-1 !! Eiting hits a volley in the centre that Bursik can only get a finger tip to as it nestles into the bottom right corner. Sloppy defending, allowing the dinky cross from the left in the first place.

30.09 1-1 !! Campbell rifles home from 12 yards after a Clucas free kick is headed back by Fletcher. Poacher’s goal.

32.41 2-1!!!! Huddersfield robbed, Fletcher slips it to Campbell who blasts past Pereira.

36.51 Fletcher puts Campbell through for his hat-trick, but keeper fumbles the shot wide.

39.11 2-2 !! More poor defending as the ball is allowed through to Mbenza to finish easily.

44.44 3-2 !!! Own goal! As Huddersfield dither at the back, passing it around aimlessly, but Campbell robs them, crosses low from the left, and Stearman turns it into his own net. Campbell frustrated he can’t claim this as a hat-trick!

56.26 4-2 !! Sam Clucas waltzes past several defenders and hits a cracker from the edge of the area into the corner. Alan Hudson would have been proud of that!
