Westwood First School receives Ofsted inspection report

Westwood first school in Leek have received their latest Ofsted inspection report.

Ofsted inspectors visited the school on 19th and 20th September.

The school received a ‘good’ rating in every part of the report with an overall ‘good’ rating.

The Ofsted inspector described the school as ‘a happy and welcoming school where pupils love to learn. Staff nurture pupils’ character and have high aspirations for them to achieve well.’

In a letter to parents, headteacher Mrs A Johnson said:

‘I am delighted that the hard work undertaken by the Westwood First staff and Talentum Learning Trust community has been recognised, including the comments regarding our focus on reading throughout the curriculum, the children’s awareness of British values, human rights and global issues and how our pupils develop a sense of confidence and responsibility through the opportunities they have during their time with us.’
