Trentham Brings the West End to Stunning Lakeside Setting

Fans of musical theatre across the North Staffordshire area are being urged to book their tickets to ensure they don’t miss out on The Barricade Boys’ show, A Night At The Musicals, at Trentham on Friday 30th July. The spectacular outdoor event – part of Trentham’s popular summer concert series – offers people missing live theatre the chance to enjoy their favourite musical numbers in a stunning lakeside setting, close to home.

The Barricade Boys are performing at Trentham, Staffordshire, as part of their critically acclaimed national tour. The musical theatre group will perform show tunes from some of the most iconic musicals in history, including songs from the West End’s longest-running musical, Les Misérables.* Their incredible vocals and harmonies will echo around Trentham’s beautiful gardens and lake, which offer an atmospheric setting for the concert, which starts at 7.30pm.

As a thank you for their hard work throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, members of the emergency services, NHS, social care sector and armed forces are being offered a two-for-one discount for the show via the Blue Light Card discount service and can access the offer via

Plus, music fans can enter a competition to win two tickets, a ‘meet and greet’ with The Barricade Boys before the concert, and a picnic hamper. To enter head over to Trentham Estate’s social media channels.

Kerry Endsor, Head of Events at Trentham Estate, said:

“We’re delighted The Barricade Boys are joining our summer concert series. We know their spectacular outdoor show will be a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is missing live theatre to be entertained in a beautiful lakeside setting, right on their doorstep.

“We’re bringing the West End – and Broadway – to North Staffordshire, and this will be a night not to be missed.”

Founded in 2016 by Scott Garnham and Simon Schofield, The Barricade Boys were originally made up of performers from Les Misérables. Since then, the group have appeared on The Paul O’Grady Show and Children in Need, as well as on Broadway. They’ve also had sell-out performances in the West End, and last year they performed a special rendition of Bring Him Home during the first Covid-19 lockdown, to show their support and appreciation for the NHS.

Having played nearly every major role in musical theatre, from The Phantom of the Opera, Wicked and Billy Elliot to Jersey Boys, The Sound of Music and, of course, Les Misérables, music lovers can expect a night filled with magical vocals.

A range of food and drink will be available at the concert, including Trentham’s pre-bookable Totally Delicious picnic hampers. Concertgoers are also welcome to bring their own picnics and drinks (subject to restrictions).
