Biddulph firefighters attend deliberate derelict building fire in Stoke

Fire crews were called to extinguish a fire at a derelict building in Stoke-on-Trent.

Crews from Biddulph, Hanley, Longton and Newcastle and Staffordshire Police were called just after 1am on Saturday (12th August) to Hope Street, Hanley.

On arrival, officers found a derelict building well-alight and used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

The fire was deemed to be caused deliberately and the building was been secured.

Crews were at the scene on Saturday and Sunday (13th August) to work alongside their colleagues at Staffordshire Police.

The incident has since been left with police to investigate further.
