Congratulations to Congleton Town FC on securing the Midlands Football League Premier Division title this evening.
The Bears weren’t in action as their match at Tividale was called off due to a waterlogged pitch. However, Highgate United defeated 2nd place Lichfield City 2-1 meaning that the Cheshire club couldn’t be caught.
As a result of winning the league, Congleton will be promoted to the Northern Premier League West for next season. They’re set to come up against neighbours Hanley Town, Kidsgrove Athletic, Newcastle Town and Nantwich Town amongst others.
