Dame Karen Bradley MP – Weekly Update (20th February 2024)

The hospitality business is an important part of our local economy, we have campsites, glamping, farm cottages and a whole host of other types of accommodation for people visiting our beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands. This week, as my week 38’s Reason to Visit the Moorlands, I would like to feature two local businesses, Secret Cloud House Holidays and Peaks & Quiet Farm Cottages.

There are many small, family businesses in the Moorlands offering fantastic holiday cottage accommodation in our beautiful area. Peaks & Quiet Farm Cottages is a great example of this, a family-run business that welcomes guests to their beautiful cottages in the Manifold Valley in the Peak Park. The self-catering cottages are set in a secluded and tranquil location, close to tourist hotspots and are perfect for cycling, rambling or just enjoying the beautiful views and surrounding countryside.

The owners pride themselves on their hospitality, sharing insights into the local farming way of life, local attractions and making sure that their guests have a really memorable stay.

Luxury glamping site, Secret Cloud House Holidays situated on the edge of the Peak District has 5 luxury yurts with private, wood fired hot tubs, an on-site wood fired sauna as well as a massage and treatment room. The exclusive use option is ideal for special events such as reunions with family and friends, corporate meetings and retreat events.

Their second location, Scaldersitch Farm in Sheen offers 5 luxury tipis with hot tubs and was recently listed in the press as ‘one of the Top 10 Campsites and named Best for Luxury’. Footpaths from the Farm lead to beautiful parts of the Peak District with pubs, village shops, tea rooms and a farm shop all within a 20 minute walk.

All fantastic hospitality venues and great Reasons to Visit the Moorlands!
