Joe O’Shaughnessy is ready for the challenge to be Leek Town’s first choice goalkeeper

New Leek Town goalkeeper Joe O’Shaughnessy is looking forward to challenging for the number one shirt at the club.

It has been a summer of change between the sticks for the Blues as long-serving goalkeeper Danny Roberts left Leek during the close season after clocking up 238 appearances for the club. He has been replaced by O’Shaughnessy (who made one appearance for Macclesfield FC last season) and former Sandbach United and Connahs Quay goalkeeper Eric Merner. The two new lads will battle it out to see who the new first choice goalkeeper for the new season.

You can hear our extended chat about the challenge ahead as well as what life as a goalkeeper is like.
