Karen Bradley MP – Weekly Update (12th July 2023)

It’s week 6 of My Year of Reasons to Visit the Moorlands where each week, over the course of a year, I will be focusing on one of the many reasons that people enjoy the Moorlands. My Reason this week is the fabulous Biddulph Festival.

Biddulph Festival take place every year and runs for a month from the end of June. There are so many events taking place, from the launch day parade, to dancing, concerts, films, BBQ, Family Fun Day and ‘Biddulph by the Sea’ which is so exciting with donkeys, fair rides, sand and ice cream.

There are organised walks, scrumptious cakes at the Biddulph Churches Together Open Air Café, exhibitions, comedy performances and so many fun things to do and see.

I am always pleased to pop into the Open Air Café at the Town Hall and it was great to have a cup of tea and some cake and meet our Italian visitors from Biddulph’s twin town, Fusignano on Saturday. The café was packed – which is hardly surprising given the quality of the tea and cakes and the warm welcome given to all.

There are many charity organisations and volunteers who work tirelessly to make Biddulph Festival the success it always is. It is such a fun time for local people and visitors from further afield to visit Biddulph and see just how much we have to offer here in the Moorlands.

It is certainly a fantastic reason to Visit the Moorlands and I hope that many of you will support some of the great events that are taking place during the Festival.
