Karen Bradley MP – Weekly Update (27th March 2023)

It’s been a busy week in Parliament with many votes and committee meetings.  One of the highlights of my week was being able to meet National Down Syndrome Policy Group Ambassador Ed Daly and his mum, Jane, from Leek, at an event to mark World Down Syndrome Day.

I am also very excited this week to be able to announce my new initiative – ‘A Year of Reasons to Visit the Moorlands’.

The Staffordshire Moorlands is such a wonderful place and the idea behind this is to shine a light and encourage residents and visitors to come and see some of the fantastic arts, culture and tourism organisations, businesses, events and special places that we have here in our local area.

Over the course of one year, I will focus on a different ‘reason’ to visit each week.  I hope that people who know and love that ‘reason’ will share their experiences and images of why the Moorlands is a great place to live, work and visit.

Starting on June 1, I will make sure that my Facebook page and website, and this column, will tell everyone about that week’s ‘reason’.  I am so proud of the Staffordshire Moorlands constituency and I want to show the world all that we have to offer.

If you would like to be considered for the initiative, please email me on karen.bradley.mp@parliament.uk with a photo that best depicts what your organisation brings to the Moorlands and 200 words with reasons why people should visit. For the selection process we will make sure that we have a mix of arts, culture and tourism from right across the Staffordshire Moorlands constituency.

I look forward to receiving lots of applications that will really show everyone just what a very special area we live in.
