Staffordshire Police were called to High Street in Cheadle at 4.20pm today (Sunday 17th December) following reports of a man with a firearm.
Officers attended the scene and a man was found.
A 69-year-old man, from Cheadle, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear/violence.
Police have confirmed that the man remains in custody and inquiries are ongoing.
