The generosity of Moorlands residents has helped to fill lorries headed for earthquake-hit Turkey with urgently needed supplies.
An appeal for donations made by the Leek Bar and Grill in Getliffe’s Yard, closed earlier than planned when the lorries, which left from Manchester yesterday, were loaded to capacity.
Another Moorlands Restaurant, the Moss Rose, has closed temporarily, to enable staff with relatives and friends in the area to travel to find them and help.
And Moe’s Turkish Barbers in Leek has launched a cash collection for aid for the region.
