Moorlands Sport Extra. Season 2 Episode 11

This week’s edition of Moorlands Sport Extra is now out for you to listen to.

There is only one place we can start this week’s show and, that is with Leek Town as they prepare for their game with South Shields in the Emirates FA Cup. The clash is going to be shown live on the BBC iPlayer from 12.30 this Saturday which has given the club and the town as a whole a real buzz.

Ahead of the match, we caught up with Tom Carr to preview the tie.

Elsewhere Kidsgrove Athletic remain top of the Northern Premier League West division as they beat Vauxhall Motors in our midweek feature commentary and, following the match, I caught up with the scorer of the first goal Kieran Knapper to see what the Grove players make of the start to the new season.

Moving to the other end of the borough of Newcastle-Under-Lyme, we find Newcastle Town. We hear from Kyle Stubbs about what he and his teammates make on the start of the new season.

Finally, we speak to Alsager Town forward Jack Woolley following last weekend’s exit from the Isuzu FA Vase, the striker got a 90th-minute equaliser to take the game against Lichfield City to penalties where they lost 4-3. He is the brother of Joe Woolley at Kidsgrove Athletic and Matt Woolley at 1874 Northwich, so we find out if there is any sibling rivalry.
