Not long left for Moorlands businesses to enter the ‘Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism & Good Food Awards’

The countdown for the 2023-24 Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism & Good Food Awards is now on, with just two weeks to go before the deadline for entries.

This year’s competition, which is free to enter, closes at midnight on Sunday 17th September, with 20 categories including the new Rising Star award, sponsored by Stoke-on-Trent College.

The awards, organised by Enjoy Staffordshire in partnership with Staffordshire University and VisitEngland, are open to any attraction, venue, accommodation business, restaurant, pub, café, or farm shop – as long as they are in Staffordshire or Stoke-on-Trent.

They offer an opportunity for businesses to get recognition for their commitment and dedication to providing visitors with a great experience, as well as the chance to progress to the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.

At the 2022-23 Awards for Excellence, Staffordshire’s National Memorial Arboretum won the Business Events Venue of the Year, while The Duncombe Arms won Bronze in the Pub of the Year category, and The Trentham Estate’s Carol Adams won Bronze for Unsung Hero.

Philip White, Deputy Leader at Staffordshire County Council and Chair of Enjoy Staffordshire is urging businesses to get themselves nominated for an award.

Philip said: “We have a thriving tourism economy here in Staffordshire and a fantastic range of attractions, locations, and things to see and do.

“We have leading UK theme parks, national attractions along with many smaller family-owned businesses, historic houses and beautiful countryside, all of which play a vital part in our visitor economy.

“Our annual awards are a great chance to celebrate our amazing county and the businesses and people that make Staffordshire such a wonderful place to stay and visit.

“And with only a couple of weeks left until nominations close, I’d urge businesses to get themselves nominated for an award.”
