Police update after two women died in Cheadle

Postmortem examinations have taken place following the death of two women in Cheadle.

Karen Wilshaw, and her mother, Joyce Wilshaw, were both found unresponsive with significant injuries at a house on Park Lane, Cheadle, at approximately 3pm on 31st December.

Despite the efforts of paramedics and officers, both women were pronounced dead at approximately 3.50pm.

The provisional cause of death shows that 63-year-old, Karen, died as a result of multiple traumatic injuries, and 91-year-old, Joyce, died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.

Further tests are due to take place.

A 68-year-old man, who was arrested, then released under investigation, has now been released with no further action.

Whilst police are investigating the exact circumstances of Karen and Joyce’s death, they are not seeking the arrest of any further suspect.

Karen and Joyce’s next of kin continues to be supported by specialist officers.
