Two arrested following Leek collision

Moorlands Police have arrested two people as part of their investigation into a collision that happened in Leek.

It happed in the early hours of last Monday when a white Hyundai and a white Mini collided on Ball Haye Green.

Officers went to the scene with colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

The driver of the Hyundai, a man, was not injured.

A man and a woman were on the back seats of the Mini. The man wasn’t seriously injured and the woman was taken to hospital after suffering a head injury. She has since been discharged.

After carrying out enquiries, police found out that a man and a woman got out the Mini and left on-foot after the collision happened.

A 38-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, drink driving, failing to stop after an accident, driving without a license and driving without insurance.

A 35-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop after an accident.

Both of them were questioned in custody and released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police are keen to speak to people with information that can help with the investigation.
