Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision on the A50 eastbound near to Blythe Bridge just before the Creswell Road overbridge.
Officers were called at 7.05pm on Tuesday night (10th December) to reports of a serious collision involving a white Citroen Berlingo van and a Mercedes articulated lorry.
The driver of the Citroen, a man in his 60s, was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital with a serious head injury. There were no passengers involved.
The driver of the lorry was not injured and is assisting police with the investigation.
Police are keen to speak to anyone travelling on either carriageway with any CCTV or dashcam footage or those with any information which could help collision investigators.
