Appeal after patio heater stolen from Biddulph community centre

Moorlands Police are re-appealing for information after a patio heater was stolen from a community centre in Biddulph.

Officers were called to Church Road, Biddulph, just after 3.20am on 2nd May, following reports of a fire at the centre.

Firefighters from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were already at the scene and managed to extinguish a shed which was on fire behind the building, which was later deemed to be deliberate.

After the incident, a patio heater was then reported stolen from the centre.

Police have been reviewing CCTV footage from the area at the time and have been speaking with witnesses about the incident.

A patio heater was taken similar to the one pictured.

Officers believe a youth was seen leaving the area whilst carrying the heater, which is the same model as the one in the picture.

Inspector Karen Cooke, from the Moorlands local policing team, said: “Work is continuing in the local area to robustly target those who are engaging in anti-social behaviour and further criminality.

“We’ve been speaking to local residents and businesses about their concerns recently and have been proactively investigating intelligence leads and CCTV evidence to identify those responsible.

“Officers will continue to proactively disrupt those engaging in anti-social behaviour and act on the concerns of the local community who continue to report their concerns to us.”
